Kingaroy needs a Big Peanut

The Kingaroy has a Big Peanut team thanks Red Earth Community Foundation (RECF) for their in kind support and coming on board by helping with Auspicing to receive and distribute funds thought out the duration of this project.

The Kingaroy has a Big Peanut team are not an incorporated group, rather, just a few passionate South Burnett locals who wanted to help the community in organising our very own BIG PEANUT, something many locals had been waiting on for over 50 years.

Since 2014, RECF have been running a community leadership program up at the Bunya Mountains, which over half of the Kingaroy Has a Big Peanut team are Alumni (past graduates). The big peanut group was formed after one of the team members, who completed the leadership program in 2016, came up with the idea of giving back to her community and wanted to think BIG.

Over the years, after several unsuccessful attempts, it was not until another member created a GoFundMe page in late 2020, that the BIG PEANUT as it now stands, became a reality.

Red Earth congratulates the 'Kingaroy has a Big Peanut' for striving along together to bring communities vision to life.

It might have sounded like a nutty idea but Red Earth shell always be supportive of the littlest of nuts to the Biggest Peanut.

Proston Village Community Group

Proston Village Community Group aim was to assist the local community set up a Community Hub in Proston town centre. This Hub will provide a range of services to our local community including an Information Centre, meeting space, delivery of information sessions (health and wellbeing) and will help address the social and physical isolation felt by members of our small rural community.

Funds donated were administered through Red Earth’s Public Ancillary Fund (PuAF) to purchase a building to enable this community vision to come to life.
