What is BIFs?
The *Burnett Inland Future strategy (BIFs) is a platform for community, business, industry and government to participate in co-designing the kind of future our region would like in 20, 30 or 50 years.
Our geographical positioning crosses numerous local, state and federal boundaries. With this diversity, it is no surprise that there is no one, or any plan that records the vision of the people about the kind of future they would like.
Burnett Inland people are creative and resilient. The BIFs will enable community, business and industry to co-design how we face the challenges and seize the opportunities that are ahead of us from climate change, natural and other disasters, further disruption from technology advances and the potential for some of our dominant industries to exit.
As a region we will be stronger in 30 or 50 years if our people are given an opportunity to co-design their preferred future along the way as well as knowing that there is a backbone structure that evolves and functions in alignment with their preferred future.
*Burnett Inland includes the local government areas of South Burnett, North Burnett, Cherbourg, Gympie and Toowoomba.
